Em outras palavras, a empresa ainda não solicitou autorização das operações sem motoristas, caso do Cybercab. A companhia de Musk não se pronunciou sobre o assunto até o momento.
Quanto ao serviço de carona para funcionários, a Tesla não precisa de licença, uma vez que os trabalhadores não são considerados passageiros.

Segundo Elon Musk, o modelo recarrega sua energia sem a necessidade de fios, a indução.
O empresário disse esperar que os carros autônomos sejam de dez a 20 vezes mais seguros que os conduzidos por seres humanos.
Ainda, eles podem custar US$ 0,20 (R$ 1,12, na conversão direta) por quilômetro, ante o US$ 1 (R$ 5,58) atuais gastos pelos ônibus urbanos nos EUA.
